Merry Christmas

I want to wish you and everyone else a Merry Christmas. I have been off my computer for two weeks because my hard drive went out. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Monday, I took my wife, my single daughter and my granddaughter to Fresno, where I grew up, to drive through their Chrstmas tree lane. It was fantastic. They have 300 giant cedars and 150 homes decorated on a 2 mile straight stretch of a two lane street. They make it one-way from 6PM to 11Pm every night in December and people just walk of drive through at about 2 miles an hour. Our 6 year old granddaughter really enjoyed it for a while. The 2 hour drive to get there and the dinner with my brother was a little tiring for her but it was so much fun to share it with her and the rest of my family. We are almost ready for Christmas, now. The house is decorated, the gifts are bought and wrapped, the food for dinner is ordered and I am almost finished making my traditional Christmas candy. I make peanut brittle and toffee each year and now everybody in the last 7 stores where I have worked as well as at church have grown to expect it. So many people told me that their Christmas was not the same the year that I had heart surgery two weeks before Chrstmas and couldn't make any. I will finish it tomorrow and then make the deliveries. My wife and I will sing in the choir at our 11PM Chrsitmas Eve service and then try to get some sleep before we host the dinner for our family of 20. We are going to have such a great Christmas. It is a time for sharing, so Jacqline, I know how much you are going to miss your family this year.
We went through it a few years back. I am just glad that I got my computer back so that I could share Christmas with you. I am saying a prayer for you and send youu a big hug tonight and will send you another one on Christmas Day.

Thanks so much for sharing that beautiful memory for you. I appreciate the hugs as well. I will very much miss being with my children and grandchildren for Christmas but I will be spending Christmas Eve with my brother, sister in law, and two nieces. It will be our first Christmas without our sister. We lost her on Dec. 29th last year. She hung on long enough for me to come back from New York before passing away. Whenever I start to feel sad, I smile because she was always making everyone laugh and I just can't let myself let her down because she would want me to keep everyone laughing and smiling (which I do). When her, Mom, and I would be in the same room, we would laugh so hard, tears would fall. I miss them all and Daddy too. I do feel them around me giving me hugs right now, however.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, we actually got rain, sleet and SNOW yesterday! We actually got enough for it to stick. It was 18 degrees this morning, and it has been in the 20's all day! It is supposed to drop even lower tonight, but no white stuff and most of it melted today! so they said that our chances of a white Christmas are almost nil, but just a little north of us will have one. We went to go see Ocean's 12 today, I had free passes, it was good, but I think we both liked Ocean's 11 better. I am making some potato soup right now and going to put some left over ham in it. And then make some hot chocolate for us to snack on this evening. My aunt also gave us some pumpkin bread and banana bread last night so we will be snaking on it as well. Take care and stay warm!

I have always loved the music but never knew what to put to the music. Now I do. I was amazed to get a bonus (more than I have ever gotten before) and some perfume and a bracelet and earrings from the Dr. as well. I was astonished!

Last night I went to my brother and sister in law's house to have dinner and celebrate Christmas with them and my two nieces. It was a wonderful time.

I got a wonderful call from my daughter today who has been working too many hours lately. My son went to Idaho to spend Christmas with his Dad and step family.

Someday in the future, you will know what it is like to be a grandparent. There is nothing quite like it in the world! It sounds like she found herself a wonderful guy from the things you have said about him in the past.

Jacqline, does your boss need more help. My company has done away with bonuses. However, our store manager puts together grab bags for each of the employees. Mine contained a bottle of Herbal Essence Conditioner and 10 small pieces of candy. I guess that was to show her appreciation. I think I was luckier than most because at least with Herbal Essence I got to have that orgasmic experience. Ha Ha. I thought maybe that would give you a laugh. Can you believe that our manager has a masters in psychology?

Anyway, we had a great Christmas. Probably one of the best in many years. We had a total of 13 family members over for dinner and it was very relaxing. We all got many gifts that were perfect for each of us. I hope that everyone else had an equally great Christmas.

I got out during the day on New Year's Eve but have been in bed ever since. I wish I could stay in bed to get rid of this sore throat/cold. Some how I will get through the week.

Happy New Year

I am a little late wishing you a Happy New Year. I just finished my eight day work week which I get every three weeks. I had to work New Years Eve until 8PM and then all day Jan. 1. My wife and I kind of celebrated with some friends on the 30th. They invited us over for dinner and then table games. We didn't leave until after 1AM. That made up for TV and going to bed on the 31st. We had fun any way. Things got interesting this week. My pharmacy manager gave her two weeks notice on Christmas eve but didn't tell us until last week. We had some very sad days. Today, my supervisor asked me if I would replace her, at least for two months. Then if I want to stay on I could be the permanent pharmacy manager. At first I thought, "No Way". It is a very thankless job. Then the girls that I work with reminded me that if I didn't do it, I (we) would have to work under somebody that could not do the job as well as I can. We had two incompetent managers before this last one, who has really turned things around. I have decided that it would be less stressful to be the manager than to work under somebody who does not have any experience. We have two pharmacy managers in town who took over within two months after receiving their licenses. I passed on those positions because I was in a good situation with a good manager. Wish me luck and pray for me. I will need it.

I have also decided that I needed to start doing something to feel better. Tomorrow, I am going to look into a couple of gyms. I have gotten way too far out of shape. I used to go to the gym 2-3 days a week and did it for about 10 years. Then I started a program making presentations on Poison Preventions to 1st and 2nd grade kids in the schools. Doing 50 presentations a year cut into my exercize time and I got out of the habit. Now I have got to try to get back to it. I am going to have to have a lot of prayers for my success in that also. I am basically lazy and it takes a lot to get motivated to be committed the way I need to be. I know that I will feel better and not hurt as much when I tone up and I hope to lose about 30 pounds, which is what a gained since I last quit.

Jacqline - You haven't said anything about it for a while so I assume that your foot has completely healed, at least I hope so. i also hope that your health is starting out well for the New Year. The colds and repiratory problems are running rampant here. We are also having some record rains here also.

ljmo - How are you and your wife doing. I am praying for both of you. I hope that this will be a better year for you.

Toni - I hope that you are well and are starting a very good New Year.

{{{{{{{{{{Ljmo}}}}}}}}}}}}}}Unfortunately I am feeling much worse today. The Dr. is out of town and a substitute Dr. is taking her patients, so there is NO way I can stay home today!

I kept waking up during the night because I couldn't breathe through my nose. I have a very sore throat and stuffed up nose. Too many people have been breathing on me with something lately (or sneezing my direction). I fought it off as long as I could.

{{{{{{{{Ljmo}}}}}}}}}}}I wish I could say I was feeling better but I am not. With Dr. gone, I have HAD to be there, and so the long hours are so hard on me. I think the best thing for me right now would be bed rest. At night, I have a hard time sleeping because I am so choked up. It is hard to think straight with my head so plugged up!
