I just have a few questions regarding those infamous Jack & Jill parties. Having never attending one I'm curious as to how these things start.

How does one dress for such an occassion?

What's the ratio of men to women or is it all one gender?

This and so many more questions I have. Please indulge this novice knowledge seeker!

Are these usually held in some darkened room with just enough light for the person to look at one another?

because the parties are so hard to arrange
a lot of talk about them
but they rarely occur
(as for the etiquette of cleaning up, I think it would vary
In some parties, I believe that cleaning up for one another would be regarded as part of the entertainment)
