After a years hiatus after the star of the television series, Keifer Sutherlin, ran afoul of the law...the hit series '24', began a new season Sunday evening, with a second episode to occur on the regular scheduled night on Monday at 8pm Eastern.

Always abreast of the latest technology and political intrigue, the series premieres just nine days before the inauguaration of Hillary Rodham Clinton as President of the United States.

Such was the best information available to the writers of the series at the time, as a female President plays a role in the first episodes.

Oops....

The series previously portrayed an African American as Commander in Chief.

Doncha jes luv them hollywood liberals?

I know, I'm paranoid. Get over it again.

Gazing into my crystal ball, I prophesy Obama will be hated by the Ususal Suspects before the year is up. The man is a closet conservative. He already opposes same-sex marriage.

Hillary? Well you just know she and Bill will do SOMETHING to make Americans groan and feel embarrassed.

The show's over the top, for sure. But they do seem to be endorsing a 'do whatever it takes' approach to 'getting the job done' and protecting citizens from terrorists.

Amicus, the majority of the people of the world realize that the show is FICTION! We all know that Superman can't really fly, Keifer Sutherlin really isn't a secret agent and the right wing fascists didn't really win.

Oh, and we also realize that you will never admit that you were wrong about the elections and that you now are going to keep "limbaughing" us with plain old fashioned BS.

I LOVE TO HATE 24! I am afraid that I lost track of the show in the ... Second season? Maybe the 3rd. I think that was the last time Sherry said "trust me David," before I threw up, she got killed off and he was axed.

Ami? I can see a female president, a black one and even an Arab president, but a divorced one? THAT is what was so unbelievable about 24 when I watched. :D Well aside from the fact that Jack always had batteries in his cellphone and his daughter Kim was prone to be kidnapped. Ah, the fodder for slash fiction! :kiss:

"I'm going to torture you unless you tell me what I need to know. I NEED TO KNOW NOW! I HAVE TO SAVE THE USA! I HAVE TO SAVE THE WORLD!!!"

I love 24. Even though it has so many things stacked against it, it is still a fun show :D

LOL - LOL :kiss: I hate it for the same reasons. How many times can one use the SAME dialogue in ONE season.

Never enough! And the music - everything is so urgent and foreboding.
I must admit that I only struggled through 3 seasons ( the moment Nina was gone, so was I). Let's revisit the music - not as lame as some soundtracks. :kiss:

Janine Garolfalo is on it this season. And a hot FBI babe with freckles. And there's a terrorist mole in the FBI!!!

~~~~music~~~~in minor chords~~~~
TICK TOCK TICK TOCK
Janine Garolfalo is the ugly dark haired lesbian with glasses?
I try to avoid her appearances on the same order as y'all avoid Coulter.
Jack is back just in time to replace monday night feetball, guess that works...
They're ulgyfying her. But there's a fun geek girl competition heating up.
Oh, and I need some info NOW! So WWJD?
Damn! I swear, not since the West Wing series have I seen a production with such crisp writing, challenging changing and multiple POV's and split screens as "24", pleased that the series continues after a season off the air.
The same moral dilemma as before, how far would you go in interrogating a prisoner to gain information that might save innocent lives?
It seems 'Jack's' attitude of 'no holds barred', continues to be a theme and seems also to spread to others as the squeaky clean, 'freckled agent', as described before has fallen under his spell in sort of a reverse manner.
I thought 'Garrafolo', was going to be a bad guy, 'mole', but maybe not, and yup, there is Chloe all over again caught in whom to trust and who not.
So, weigh in you self righteous liberals, would you torture a criminal that had a loved one of yours under a death threat?
Heh...
;)
So "24" is back with rumors of it being the last season...dunno...the writers of this show are curious...to say the least...
Violence and mahem seems to be a given, as is fast paced action but the personal betrayals, the corruption at the highest levels of government and the FBI, planes falling out of the sky and colliding in mid air, state of the art surveillance and electronic gadgets.
But the reason I dredged this thread of from seven pages back is the ongoing conflict between those who would torture to extract information to save innocent lives and those who would not.
I suggest it is an interesting and not one sided dialogue about the interrogation of enemy combatants who are not citizens of this nation weighed against the humanity for humanities sake when the terrorists have no such limitations.
Oh, well....
