I've removed all the avs and sig lines from the posts and enjoy them so much more....

First it was the dollies, then it was animals, then photos. Then I discovered a "thingee" in the profile section that allows for the elimination of avatars. I also tired of signature lines that in most cases were longer than the posts. Clever as some of them are, they can be very distracting. There is another "thingee" that took care of those.

Now, when I read stuff on the BB, the message comes through, loud and clear. I truly enjoy it much more this way.

How about removing the fucking "fuck" thread and the "cunt" thread.

We have a goddamn chatroom, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I'm half way with you on this, Blue. I removed the sig lines about a month ago. Makes the threads flow so much more smoothly.

I like most of the avs, though. Some of the images are hilarious, some thought provoking, some simply beautiful. I almost turned them off when someone posted a close-up of his cock as his av - it really didn't fit the topic of some of the threads and I'm not especially fond of seeing a line of penises down the side of my screen. But now that he's a face again, I'm happy. Most people stick with one av (I know I'm not one of them), so a quick glance to the left allows me to know who posted. Quick reference point.

I removed sig lines - some are small novellas and were starting to annoy me. I like the avs though.

So you dont lik ea big penis trying to integrate itself with your work?

Jessica, weren't you studying? Or is it Lit: a case study tonight?

Oh sure, turn off the sig lines after I spent 15 minutes trying put up my 'onion' button with it fucking up.

I have to agree though, some of the sigs are out of control, if people keep them equal to or less than the height of the avs it doesnt hamper the flow of the board, but otherwise its a mess.

Just for you, MM; listen up.....

There's another little thingee called the ignore button. I use it and I bet you could too, bless your heart.

How do I ignore a thread?

(Notes I do not blame Blue for my annoyance with the chat threads)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just hooked up my IV of coffee and am getting back to my paper.

but...but...but...it took me ages to think of mine...

:)

The keyword to me is sigline. That's all it need be; a brief line or quote that says something pertinent that you feel expresses you beyond the other bells and whistles available here. I change mine each time I change my avatar, always keeping it to a single sentence and attempting to find one that relates to the visual in my av. But that's just me.

I do find it ironic that some who turn them off still have them in their posts. What's up with that?
