There are some recent threads and I have posted in most of them. If you click on "search" and then my handle, you can find them that way. I have had a lot of stories stolen and it really pisses me off.

Sorry to hear that, BooMer. Some internet site, I assume? The threads on the subject I remember all chorused, "PM Laurel, she'll know what to do," but I'm not sure that's what you want to hear.

I'll have a look for the threads. I'm going to do that by doing a search on a fella named Boxlicker. He was on nearly every one of those threads. You can do the same, if you like.

PM Laurel with all of the information you have. That's pretty much the gist of the threads. I'll see if I can find some for you, though.

What did/could you do about it?

First & foremost, contact Laurel in a PM. She is very good about helping in such situations. She also has lots of experience with it. Give her the story the site and any other info you have.

After you contact her contact the site. If they are unwilling to do anything about it, contact the host they are using and tell them the site is violating copyright laws.

Most sites will remove if pressured. Almost all hosts will make them remove it rather than face a possible suit. I know you are probably angry and feel violated, but try to remain professional in your correspndance with them. In many cases they site owners will have no idea the story has been pirated.

Laurel is a gem, she will do most of it for you. She agressively persues it when site authors are being pirated. I know it's a lonely and lousey feeling, but keep you chin up.

Hey, Boo! Wish I could say I'm happy to see you here, but considering the circumstances I'd much rather you hadn't had to come looking for help.

Compensation from the site that stole your story is likely damn near impossible. Selling your story is, well, another story. If I recall, there are wondrous souls who've managed to be paid for their stories, though I've no idea how they went about it.

Hey Min!!

You probably won't see any money without litigation. Sadly, most of the internet porn operations are set up so they can just fold rather than make any payments of settlement, then reopen with a new name. So many of them are hosted in foerign countries with very lax or non existant copyright laws.

I'm not saying it is a pipe dream, but don't count on the right thing bein gthe legalaly actionable thing in this case.
