ok, maybe not really the fountain of youth but i was in the check out line at a store last night and in the counter right beside me was a candy bar that i didn't even know they still made. i'm not making this up. it's called a big hunk. more completely it's called annabelle's big hunk. really. they're a chewy nougat with peanuts. i bought three of them and when i got to the car i opened one, broke off a bite and when i put it in my mouth i was ten years old sitting in a movie theatre watching the lone ranger or batman or the green hornet. man, that's close enough to the fountain of youth for me.

what triggers you into a nostalgic moment?

lol Annabelle's Big Hunk

have you written another story....No. 3.....yet, unclej? :)

Nestle's Crunch, reminds me of the drive-in-movies. My dad always got me one and a coke. Ahhh the good ol days! :D

Legos. I pause every time I pass by a new set in the store.

*happy thoughts*

no i haven't ginny. and by the way, it's good to hear from you. i've been busy writing songs and building bluesboy2 a guitar and my story writing muse has temporarily abandoned me. but i have been rolling a couple of ideas around for some serious porn.

man, i miss drive in's. the last one i went to was right there in dallas off of central if i remember correctly. somewhere north of park lane. but that was about a hundered years ago.

Nehi Grape Soda.

or a 6 oz. Coca Cola filled with a bag of salted peanuts.

hello mishka...how have you been. i'm afraid leggos were a little after my childhood but i was working on a deck last week and was thinking how playing with tinker toys and erector sets as a child probably gave me some basic structural skills.

The old drive that was on Central was just south what is now LBJ Freeway. At first it was turned into a consignment auto sales lot, then, it was turned into a parking lot for the airport shuttle about 20 years ago. Later, the screens were taken down.

I don't know what's there now, but I miss that place too.

hey texan...i remember moving to abbott texas from california when i was 12 and the first time i had peanuts in a soda. it was a rc cola. thought it was stupid until i tried it. i still do it occasionally and it's still just as good. had my first moon pie back then also.

you're exactly right texan. i knew it was up there someplace. i haven't got a clue where anything is there any more. i worked for years in the cambell center or fina plaza some called it. anyway it was the two gold towers on central. i left dallas 10-11 years ago and when i went back up there for the first time last christmas i didn't recognize anything.

Plasticine always reminds me of being a kid as does peanut rings.

Are there many drive in's left anymore I was kinda hoping to go to one when I come over to visit.

I don't know if they make them anymore but those kid-sized dixie cups. First thing that came to mind. We used to keep a stack in the bathroom.

I'm sure a real cup would have done the job. What a waste now that I look back. I bet they spawned the chain of products that led to pre-cut and packaged carrot sticks.

What was the question...

Ritz crackers and peanut butter sandwiches...

They remind me of the late nights grandpa let me stay up and eat them with him. :)

When I find those little squeeze tubes of blowable tacky stuff in the bubblegum dispensers. It makes a pretty cool bubble, and it makes great fake snot balls after they get popped.

You can download old Nintendo games and play them on your computer now.

I spent most of the day playing Super Mario Brothers 3. I should do it more often; I felt so much like a nine-year old I went about six hours without a cigarette and didn't even blink.
