Does anyone recall the pilot episode to the now defunct series "The Lone Gunmen"? And, if you do, isn't that weird?

I don't recall, My Lord and My Savior.

Please. Tell me.

Nope, didn't see that, but Clancy's "Debt of Honor" ('94) was a 'how to' for Sept. 11.

I vaguely remember it. I remember looking forward to the show and, while it had some merits, being mainly disappointed.

do tell us, oh wise one. i wanted to see it but missed it.

"The Lone Gunmen" was a spin-off from "X-Files" that was cancelled after a few episodes, a few months before Sept 11th.

In the pilot epoisode the three partners uncover a government plot to force the country into a more hawkish mode by causing a terror attack and blaming it on our enemies. The plot was to fly a commercial airliner into the World Trade Center.

The final shots of the episode showed the plane approaching one of the towers. The "remote control" guiding the plane was dismantled at the last moment.

I've never heard anyone talk about it -- probably because no one but me and three other people even saw it. It's weird to think of it now.

If they hadn't cancelled the show, they probably would never have showed the pilot in rerun.

I don't think you can. It's sitting on a shelf at Fox, doomed to enver be aired again.

Unless you find someone who taped it.

ebay will have it sooner or later.

gonna have to pay up the ass for it, though. fuck...

Preludes

In "Debt of Honor" a pilot flys a 747 into Capital Hill during a joint session of congress.

He succeeded.

I was talking about it then, I told all the fans of that show that I knew that they'd never see it again.

I was right.

That is too frickin weird, now that sounds like a case for X-Files.
