It's "Twitter Freedom Friday!"

I watched a recent Dave Rubin clip where he was invited to Twitter HQ to talk to Musk and the engineers. While he was sitting with the engineers they uncovered all sorts of 'banning' type gimmicks in the code. By his description it sounded very much like 'spaghetti code' to me. Never seemed to be any attempt on their part to start a parallel project to organize the code, just kept adding shit as time went on. Musk mentioned that they would probably scrap the existing code and start with a fresh sheet of paper. Makes one wonder what all those engineers that USED to work at Twitter were doing?

The worst I ever ran into was when consulting with IBM on their "Speech to Text/Text to Speech" project. There was damn near as much 'conditional compile' directives threaded through the code as there was code. It was a nightmare. They didn't want to clean it up so they sold it as is. Looks like Twitter did the same thing.

I found that happening whenever I was hired to revamp code that had been written by committee. You'd try to diagram the processes and it devolved into dead ends and redundancies. It always seems to be the proper course to scrap the old collaborative process and replace it with code written to a logical and documented framework. Who knows what happened to my babies when I retired. I assume that they were "maintained/fixed" by people who didn't bother to read the documentation or study the structure outline.

"... Yes, we do have our own Red Guard here, but they do their rampaging on Twitter.”

Bill Maher

Their Reserves do a lot of serious campaigning here too. 🕶️

I am still proud to proclaim, I've never been a Twit.
Same here, but that could change depending on how they clean it up.

The IBM code at least had the virtue, if you can call it that, of being all in C++. I can only imagine what the Twitter code must look like. All of the Server Side crap like PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, C++, and God only knows what else.

the funniest thing about the ignorance of your own topic is that you're totally clueless as to how twitter (used) to work. you used to be able to curate your own feed but now, musk is pushing the rwcj agenda into normal people's feed.

if anything, it is now less than how you actually want it to work and more propaganda being pushed on you.

just stop.

Have you ever tried to debug code someone else wrote in C++? It's the reason I switched most of them to a dBase application, especially since I was working on systems that housed data.

:D

Yup. I stayed away from C++ because of 'memory leaks.' I understand that the more recent compilers have gone a long way to fix that issue.

I used to load my computer with a code generator and complier, but alas, my Mac no longer supports that kind of thing.

When you have to argue by meme, you have no argument, just emotional histrionics.
It's just like when some shit head scientist tries to explain their fake science with graphs, charts, or pictures. If they don't use actual written words it doesn't count as science.

In peer-researched publication those are supplemental. On a porn board, they are an intelligence tell.

What happens when "genius-level intelligent" and "highly successful" businessmen like Time Magazine's 2021 Person Of The Year Elon Musk uses memes to illustrate their arguments on social media platforms?

Are they emotionally histrionic also, or just being snarky-hip and clever?

Until a constitutional amendment is proposed and passed. If you actually did some research, you might find there is a will to change 2A in the USA, and it is growing. Me I don't give a shit....if you want to keep your head in the sand, no skin off my nose....it's your society, and your loss....*chuckles* not mine.
There is no desire to change the Second Amendment outside the minority left wing. 26 states have either passed or are in the process of passing constitutional carry laws. You need 38 states to amend the Constitution.

the "minority left wing" keeps winning the popular vote and 2 of the last 3 presidencies, dunce.
