It's "Twitter Freedom Friday!"

But you’re not obsessed.

Back in the real world, on the issue of advertisers:

Elon Musk personally called CEOs of companies that stopped advertising on Twitter to complain, report says

https://www.businessinsider.com/mus...-to-complain-ad-spending-twitter-2022-11?op=1

Musk's calls backfired and other brands joined the growing list of companies to withdraw spending.

Genius billionaire move, right there.

My own feeling on Musk's Twitter takeover is, he had an opportunity for reform and improvement, and blew it in dramatic fashion. Months ago he spoke about things like making Twitter algorithms transparent to users, and new features like post editing. As a Twitter user, I'd have been very receptive to these changes. I'm still receptive to opening the verification process, done properly. But with Twitter's future so uncertain, my involvement in the platform has essentially evaporated.

In spite of a loss of advertising dollars that will result in a "massive drop in revenue," billionaire Elon Musk says his latest purchase, social media app Twitter, is registering all-time high sign-up rates.

"Twitter draws insult yellers from all over the world."

Canadians aren't "insult yellers" on Twitter.

See the NPR article. Or remain dim like the deadluks. Your choice.
Lol. Canadian researcher finds that fellow Canadians are not as mean on Twitter. Guess I touched a nerve. I should have known better as my research finds that Canadians on Lit are very sensitive. But I do acknowledge that our little brothers and sisters to the north are super nice and sweet.

True. Social Media's more an angry American thing.
Proud to see Canadians adopting American culture on social media. They’re still yelling at each other on Twitter over Covid vaccinations! Also saying some really, really mean stuff about their prime minister. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸

The numbers still say you're wrong. You'll get over it once you find something else to wind you up.

Federal government to pause advertising on Twitter indefinitely

The federal government spent over $3 million on Twitter ads through its media and marketing partner Cosette from 2020 to 2021

In Canada, Twitter has been used primarily as a "press release" service and a convenient way for politicians to make "statements" without facing questions from a broad audience.

In fact, fewer than 13% of Canadians use Twitter at all, and most of them are government employees, members of the media and people with anti-government messages...it's a very thin slice of Canadian life, basically irrelevant.
