When anybody can say absolutely anything they want, as loud as they want. But what then, is the point of saying anything at all?
The point is because………….
Because - Political Correctness, or PC as it has become known (the well intentioned fear of offending anyone) has become the ethos of cultural mainstream.
I believe this kink in the Zeitgeist must be corrected.
The new frontiers of rebellion are totally uncharted. So yes, we can expect more shocking moments. We can expect ever escalating doses of defiance. We can expect new sources of outrage that will rub people the wrong way. We can expect all this to be marketed at kids and we can expect that it will all be designed to irk their elders.
No, the new rebellion will not be intended for adults. As it never is. Most adults will not even conceptually understand it.
How far is too far - when things simply go that way? Where is the line?
I say, there are no limits to boundaries, the boundaries our culture created, that all beg to be smashed and trampled.
It's the same old song.
