Think of it this way. You have an impossible time getting a date but the likelihood of you dating a completely moralless asshole who will use you and abuse you is far far smaller.

Frankly I'll take loneliness any day over sifting through the stacks to try and find the lone non-assholes of the deck. Especially since I've noticed most of the non-assholes share your exasperation on the whole dating traditions.

I know the only boyfriend I've ever had (and still have) was completely oblivious to the fact that I was interested. Everyone else got it because I was being so obvious, but it took some agressive poking him with my foot repeatedly while playing cards before he finally noticed.

So I did all the work on that one. Just wanted you to know that I hear ya, but there's examples of people like me too that are female and seem to do all the work.

Heck, I was in the damn prom court and still didnt have a date for the prom, despite asking agressively. Not that I didn't have fun, but it was a little frustrating.

very strange position I have on this. It was my wife who chased after me, rather than the other way around. (It seems to have worked out well for us though.) As to why things work out that men are the ones who have to do the chasing, well it's a historical thing having to do with male dominance issues that still hasn't truly ended.
