my ankh that I bought 3 yrs ago has now, died. How can an ankh die? The stone symbolising the union of male and female has been broken....*weeps*

I think I will just get a new symbol tommorrow when I go ren festing...:'( This is a tragic moment indeed....

to make things worse...

I had charged it with some of my energies...so now I have to dispose of it, you wear it until it breaks....

I know how you feel. The attached picture is my amulet. It's charged in a very specific way andf I lost it, I'm not sure if I could ever get it back.

You need to put down the crack pipe...........and slowwwwlllllyyyyy back away...............

I have a friend with a special big purple gel ramulet she had charged with some Energizers recently.

She's going to wear it until the batteries stop working.

the star of david to a jew....

a crusifix to a catholic...

an ankh for a Wiccan, or Goddess symbol...

Silverluna hun, they all serve a purpose. You do not need to get rid of it. Place it where you will still see it and enjoy it. And it is okay to get a new one and energize it too. Putting your energies into more than one thing is not bad. In the end it will surround you. You will benefit from it all.

Thank ye, I don't think I will get rid of it anyway...
A friend of mine, friend is so weak compaired to the frienship feelings I have for him (oh well) has one exactly like mine, we were ankh buddies...;)

From a magician's perspective, I would
  1. scry to determine the lesson behind why it broke (a warning? as protection, like a fuse? ...?)
  2. put the ankh into a safe place (e.g. wrapped up in black silk) until you find a replacement
  3. then take it out and 'drain' the remaining energy from it into the new piece
  4. which leaves you with a nice sentimental knick knack for your bookcase or desk or such.
    [/list=1]
Just beware with the transfer of energy if it was a protective event that you don't release or attract that which you were protected against. In that case properly getting rid of it might be the better option.

thanks....i have bought a ring that sort of replaces it....a pentacle...its not the same but i liked it....i have cleansed it and charged it....it wasn't a protective ankh...just a center of power...so would you still drain it if it was yours? if so how?

Certainly. And if it was a center of power, then it still may have worked to protect - so do something to explore that first.

E.g.: sit, meditate, focus on the center point of the ankh, imagine your consciousness entering that point, then imagine time flowing back to just before when it broke, and then be fully aware as you relive that event as the ankh.

For the draining, hold the ankh in one hand, the ring in the other; imagine the ring as black, the ankh as bright white; then touch the two and let the white flow into the ring until the ankh is drained, black and still and the ring glowing; seperate them and pay your respect to the ankh, but also recognise that you have separated your energy from it's existence. It's about boundaries...

oh ... and if you do find that the energy left isn't clean due to some protection 'fuse' effect, drain the remainder into the earth, preferably somewhere out of the way. Rivers are good too. You'll know if you want to keep the ankh in that case, or bury/sink it.
