Ok, just because there's little at stake this weekend compared to previous Rivalry Saturdays does not mean it should go ignored. What's the biggest rivalry in college football?

My obvious answer is UA vs. AU in the Iron Bowl.

Clemson/South Carolina is always a war. But you don't have the inter-conference importance. Vandy should go join the pussies in the ACC in a trade for Clemson. Alabama might take quite a fall depending on hard the ncaa spanks their ass, but it will always be a big rivalry. Florida/ Fl state usually has huge national implications. Not this year, but state will be back. The Big 12 has a few if you enjoy watching cornfed lineman push each other around in a 7-0 game.

Like most alums I don't remember the fight song, but the banned cheer goes:

I know it makes no sense but when was the last time drinking and good sense coincided with college football.

That is the Ole Miss cheer. And despite the best efforts to ban the song, it still lives on. The Million Dollar Band hasn't had music for it in over a decade, but it's still a required song to play in fall tryouts.

The Alabama Fightsong is titled Yea Alabama.

And actually most alums who ever bothered to learn the song, remember it. It was written back in the 1920's so it isn't really relevant any longer and the chorus is the only part still played by the Million Dollar Band.
