It's never just about the pork chops, there's something else to the situation that men have problems seeing. That's why i suggested the undermining to the kids. There's another reason why she's so angry.

The original question was why do women stay mad for so long.....It wasn't about calling her a dog or not using knives.

I dunno woodcarver...I have to admit I'm one of those "silent treatment" women...and I can hold on to it longer than I should.....maybe it's hormonal.

She may be feeling unappreciated and hasn't stated this to you for whatever reason. If that is the case, those feelings stewing inside could cause her to blow up at what seems, to you, to be a small thing.

Or maybe it's what morninggirl5 touched on, could be she feels you're undermining her authority. I don't know your situation but this could be especially true if she's at home with the kids all day or if she does the majority of taking care of them once the kids get home in the evening.

Is there a reason why the little one's pork chop couldn't have been cut by you or his mother??
