Much to my surprise, I discovered that a story of mine has been nominated for Fetish Story of the Year, 2021. As someone explained it to me, it's in the list because the story did really well for a month or two, sometime in 2021.

https://forum.literotica.com/threads/the-2021-literotica-awards-fetish.1567604/

Since this award (I have no idea what the prize is, or even if there is a prize) is basically a "get your friends to vote" kind of thing, with, so far, 35 votes cast for all nominations - so many, gosh - and I'm currently in second place (!!), what better idea is there than to mobilise you guys to vote?

This will establish either: a) I have no friends; b) I can't write (but Simon left a nice comment); c) I can write, because you'll like it.

Of course, you really should read the story first - it's typical EB slow burn, with a breast milk fetish, male female, café society, and erotic nostalgia. Also, other than the fantasy bits, a lot of it is actually true.

It's only 9k words, so it's a quick read.

Shameless self promotion - you have until 9th August to vote :).

Congratulations! If I recall correctly, the prizes are $150 (US) for first place, $100 for second, $75 for third. You can get it in an Amazon gift certificate if you are not in the USA.

And as long as we are doing this, I would appreciate a few more votes for White Castle Christmas, which is nominated in the category of Humor & Satire

Same here, see sig.

Btw, I ended up reading how eligibility works about ten times. I think I get it.

If during the year (calendar year 2021, or “last year”) your story was the top rated story…
  • IN ITS CATEGORY for the monthly awards,
  • and EVEN IF/THOUGH IT DIDNT WIN THE OVERALL MONTHLIES (that’s the key to it all, the confusing part, and why so many people are surprised that they’re included)
  • AND it was one of the top 5 scoring stories overall for the whole year, for its category, among the 12 monthly winners…
  • Then it’s eligible for the annual award for its category.

That's fun! That was a fun fetish story, and I'm glad it got the recognition. It's a good reminder that it's worthwhile to publish stories in the less-trafficked categories sometimes because you can be the bigger fish in the smaller pond.

Your thread prompted me to check, and my story Teddy Bear is nominated in the Toy category. That might have been the most enjoyable of all of my stories to write. It certainly had the most ridiculous premise.

I was just as surprised when another author pointed out that my story 'I'm Dreaming of a Hot Christmas' was nominated in Mature. I had no idea how it got nominated, but now I know. Thanks.

Oops. I'm sorry, those are the prizes for the monthly awards.
