24-hour marathon, apparently. On Nicktoons - they show the classic cartoons.

Our young son has recently discovered Tom and Jerry - he's hooked. Especially as he now understands the many references other shows have always made to Tom and Jerry, including the cartoon violence.

This morning he gleefully exclaimed, "Oh, I love this episode! It has twice as much cartoon violence as the regular cartoons!"

:D

(On the flip side, we're stuck indoors because of thunderstorms today. After 24 hours of watching Tom and Jerry, I might be reduced to cartoon violence.)

You have my sympathies. Two weeks ago, it was the Scooby-Doo marathon. Watching that truly was Horror (gee, maybe there's an idea for the Haloween contest in there somewhere). Can Woody Woodpecker be far behind? On the bright side, one of those episodes introduced me to Liszt, who has been my favorite composer ever since.

My husband always insists his first knowledge and love for classical music began with cartoons. He remembers Liszt Les Preludes from watching old black and white reruns of Flash Gordon.

I enjoy when they do the performances of symphonic works with Tom as conductor or piano works with Tom as the soloist. My son is getting an early earful and he doesn't even know it. ;)
