I've got my coffee, and my seed catalogs. It's not that long until it will be time to plant, and I have to admit I'm a little too excited over planning out the garden.

There's some laundry to finish up and some odds and ends of housework. But for now, I'm perusing LIT and coveting corn, bean, carrot, tomato seeds.

What's your day or, for those of you across the pond, evening, look to be like?

It's lovely here.

I'm logging out and going outside.

It feels like Spring out there.

Yesterday, we washed the car and the truck, and cleaned the winter yuck out of the carpets. Although, i have to admit, the was much less winter yuck than in years past. This little chore, done in the sunshine has given me Spring Fever. With Spring Fever comes the urge to clean everything inside and plant the garden outside.

Contemplating a bike ride and a Bloody Mary. OK, the BM is a sure thing.

I'm thinking about making a pot pie (but I'll have to see if I have the ingredients) and I've got laundry to do.

I was up early to shovel the snow (again).
Since last Monday, this has been a regular thing, a few trips a day.

We needed the snowblower then but it wouldn't start
it has since been fixed
We don't use it on the wraparound walkway
so its me & a shovel

I was out already, helped the son get out for work
the man in the sidewalk plow did a sidewalk for us
I did the other (corner lots have ALOT of sidewalk)

On the upside, I did put a rub the standing rib
that will be dinner tonight

Winter cough ,so I am staying in the warm .

whiskey, honey, orange juice. Mix it up and take a spoonful when you cough.

I need to get a bike for days like today.

There's a pot pie story from my newlywed days, but i won't bore you with it. Everytime I see a reference to pot pie, it makes me giggle a little bit.

Ya know, until i read a thing in here about laws requiring homeowners to keep the sidewalks in front of their homes clear, I had no idea. I'm such a bumpkin...

Awaiting up to 2 more feet of snow and checking my liquor supply.

You need a snuggle buddy too. Just a suggestion :)

Coffee while I read, breakfast, and be lazy.

I've been lazy this morning too.

Fed my Python. Fetching canned food for the post-operative dachsund (missing 15 teeth).
Then it's time to organize my craft closet and gently badger the teenage labor force into finishing chores.

I have seed catalogs piling up too, so maybe tonight I will have to start planning my order too. It will be a while before I will plant them given where I live; I never have much success with keeping seedlings alive indoors.

Today I will be putting polyurethane on an old oak table I've been refinishing, as I've finally finished the stripping, sanding, staining part.

I'm making chili because there is frozen stuff falling from the sky and it's easy and a good way to sneak vegetables into DH's diet.

And perhaps do some reading, play some music, and if I feel ambitious... start some laundry and other housework.

Laundry, yes.

Garden plan already in place. I will try to expand again this year.

Wonderful weather outside; put the student through his paces without the winter coat.

:)

I need to get the hubs on board with some of my ideas. Any suggestions on how to sway him to my way of thinkin?

It's 64 F here. I want to open all the windows and let some of the pent up 'old' air go outside.

Sounds nice. My garden is under two feet of snow, so it is still a little bit of a struggle to get in the planting mood here yet :(

A chicken pot pie? Doesn't it smack a bit of cannibalism?

Nothing. Im laying low today. I have been going non-stop for 2/3 weeks and need some time with no agenda. Which translates to - cooking, probably. It's what I do for fun and to unwind. There's nothing better imho.

I'll have to go to the store first, tho. Not sure if that will happen of not. If it does, I'll probably bake meatballs to freeze. And, some red sauce. Possibly open a bottle of wine. For sure I'll be streaming music during the cooking - Some Ella Fitzgerald.

Hard to improve on Ella, red sauce, and wine.
