If you're a politician with a big enough position, apparently you can convince yourself that you don't have to obey the law. This isn't the first time that the scumbag has been caught in a sexual predator situation. Those interested might follow the case to see how the scumbags let him squirm out of the situation this time. Comment?
IMF Head Strauss-Kahn Arrested for Sexual Attack
Dominique Strauss-Kahn, head of the International Monetary Fund and French presidential hopeful, was arrested in New York today over accusations of a sexual attack on his hotel room maid, the New York Times reports. The attack allegedly occurred earlier today in the Times Square hotel where Strauss-Kahn was staying.
A 32-year-old woman told authorities that she entered Strauss-Kahn’s suite at the luxury Sofitel hotel not far from Manhattan’s Times Square at about 1 p.m. Eastern time (1600 GMT) Saturday and he attacked her, Browne said. She said she had been told to clean the spacious $3000-a-night-suite suite, which she had been told was empty.
According to an account the woman provided to police, Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom naked, chased her down a hallway and pulled her into a bedroom, where he began to sexually assault her. She said she fought him off, then he dragged her into the bathroom, where he forced her to perform oral sex on him and tried to remove her underwear. The woman was able to break free again and escaped the room and told hotel staff what had happened, authorities said. They called police.
When New York City police detectives arrived moments later, Strauss-Kahn had already left the hotel, leaving behind his cellphone, Browne said. “It looked like he got out of there in a hurry,” Browne said.
Strauss-Kahn was taken off an Air France flight minutes before takeoff by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and turned over to Manhattan detectives, according to a Port Authority spokesman. He is expected to be taken to the offices of the Manhattan Special Victims Unit at P.S.A. 5 in Manhattan, another official told the Times.
Strauss-Kahn, who is married to prominent French television journalist Anne Sinclair, had been considered a leading contender to run on the Socialist Party’s ticket against President Nicolas Sarkozy. Nonetheless, this is not his first exposure to controversy. In 2008, Strauss-Kahn was accused of having a sexual relationship with one of his subordinates, Piroska Nagy, a senior official in the IMF’s Africa Department. Nagy left the fund to work elsewhere, and despite an internal investigation, Strauss-Kahn kept his position at the IMF. The Times reports that he later apologized for an “error in judgment.”
