It took four months to realize I made a minor(kind of important) mistake.

My Awakening story has can up since October, and only recently did I realize that I misdated one of the dates in the story. Which might've made the story confusing, I think. It's fixed now.

Anyone else make a similar mistake before?

I just did that on another site. I had someone using an Apple PowerBook in 1987, and then a reader informed me that those weren't introduced until 1991. They move fast there however, and they've already posted the new version.

On Lit, I have a story that I posted in the wrong category last Friday. The corrected version is pending at the moment. The score was really low because I probably confused the hell out of the readers.

Those kinds of errors happen all the time... easy to miss.

I had a story published for around a year... got lots of views, votes, favorites... then a reader pointed out the name of a character changed about halfway through (I'd changed the character's name in one of the many drafts). My fault for not catching it before publishing, but yeesh, you'd think a reader might have said something before a year went by!

Or maybe they'd just been skimming the story for the sex scenes. It was pretty steamy :)

I messed up a gym rota in Oxygen Games, Saturday for a Sunday. Only just caught it before publishing. I know... a white-knuckle adrenaline rush, eh...?

In one of my weight-gain stories I got the weight wrong.

I wonder if a software with a timeline feature would help to catch date errors.

I had finished and edited my story, when I found the time line was all wrong. The heroine's mother must have been 13 when the heroine was born, the heroine 14. I had to hurrieedly redraft to make the birth times suitable for lit (over 18 but below 21 - the dates allowable with parental consent in the UK at that tme - which they didn't have).
