It passed!

Can I watch?

Or even hide in the closet, listen and take notes for future stories?

Grats to Logo and all the other WI midwifes who have waited and hoped for this day!

I haven't been around lately and only just saw this. Congrats Logo! Where the hell were you 15 years ago when I had mine?!?

, that she wanted to punish for doing it the old-fashioned way. But I guess, as midwives, we're all about that!

Don't you know its supposed to be sterile surroundings (with staph all around) and Daddy pacing outside wondering if its his or the milkman's?

Way to go Babe!! :nana: :catroar: :nana:

An update for anyone who might be interested!

Our bill passed back in January and went on to our governor's office to await his signature. It sat there and sat there and sat there while he was heavily lobbied by the medical establish in an effort to get him to veto it. He refused to commit when asked directly about the bill. We are coming up on the end of the legislative term here in WI and if he hadn't signed it by next Friday, the bill would have died without an active veto.

Well, last Friday he called for the bill and people were fairly nervous since we hadn't heard a strong committment from him for months. This morning, however, he signed our bill! We are legal to practice here in WI.

Sometimes, those politicians do the right thing simply because it IS the right thing.

I'm happy for you, logo.

When a mid-wife starts a thread entitled "It Passed", legislation is not what immediately came to mind. :)

Congratulations on your triumph of grass roots politics!
