It just occurred to me

Micronesia. They use the U.S. dollar, so you don't need to convert your money.

Seriously though, what kind of vacation do you want; cultural discovery or tropical fun?

I want to see the Northern Lights before I die.

Vanuatu.
So you can scope it out and let me know if it's worth going to.
;)

Googled it. very impresive

I don't want to do anything for the first 3 days but sleep. after that, both of the above. I have 12 days of accumulated vacation that I doubt I'll get to use until next year. By then there will be more.

I have no idea...

No invitation to come help the Princess with her critters?
<pout>

This is harvest time in the 'heel. We are too busy to kiss your ass.

Try December when Charlie is all wound up on Jesus. He tries to out-do the Plaza!

KC got nuttin' on me!

I can can and preserve like nobody's business as well as muck stalls like I was born with a pitchfork in my hand.

I don't need no ass kissin, just a dimly lit corner in which to sleep.

How about Costa Rica?

Oops, I guess they don't have monkeys in Okinawa. I know mainland Japan does.

This is enticing.

It's a wonderful, friendly place. A bit of a small town; everybody knows everybody, but it has a medical school, so there's some culture, and it's world-class diving/snorkeling. No beaches, well, one or two really small ones, so it's not crowded with Eurotrash and American idiots. Great hiking and little shops to poke around in. Beautiful Caribbean climate/ecology. Lady P and I had our honeymoon there. Loved it.

Unfortunately I don't have more pics, as they're mysteriously trapped in Lady P's laptop for some reason, and all the other ones I do have have her in them, so I won't post them publicly.

It's fun to get to, also; the flight in involves a fairly famous "fly into the cliff and bank at the last minute" approach.

If you have any interest in diving, it's a must do. They've protected their entire coast as a marine preserve and my dive instructor (I took my initial cert. course while there), who had dived all over the world, said he stayed there because it was the best he'd ever seen.

If you have never been to Paris, and you like food and wine, then you have to go to Paris. If that does not interest you, throw a dart at the map.
