the forums sure are different (read "boring") without any images being displayed (I was looking at the forums from my parents computer all weekend due to mine being dysfunctional).

I should be receiving that new graphics card that I ordered today. I hope installation doesn't pose any big surprises. I am switching brands and know that I will need to boot up in safe mode and flush out all of the old drivers I have to install new ones. I'm a little scared of this, but all should be well by Wednesday evening...
 

The good news is that while we in the low-to-mid-latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere haven't quite reached the winter solstice, the earliest sunset IS now behind us. From now 'til June, sunsets do nothing 'cept get later and later.

 
Stupid graphics card wasn't delivered today. Now I won't be able to install it until Wednesday at the earliest, even if I get it tomorrow (poker game). If I go to poker on Wednesday as well (which I had been toying with the idea of), I won't be able to install it until Friday (kung fu holiday party on Thursday).
 
I got my new graphics card today! Woohoo! :nana: :nana:

I hope I don't screw up installing it...

I hope I didn't really need a new motherboard...

And my camera didn't work when I tried to turn it on today. I thought the battery was charged pretty well the last time I turned it on a few days ago, but I guess I was wrong. At least I hope it just needs charging...
 
And my computer still doesn't work. In fact now it won't boot up at all...

And I had another dream about a woman that has no romantic interest in me...
 
I got a Christmas card yesterday from my oldest friend in the world. We became inseparable somewhere around 5th grade and have somehow managed to still have that soulmate-friend vibe going after all this time, even though we haven't actually laid eyes on each other in years.

She had added a P.S. at the bottom that said, "Thanks for adding a touch of magic to my childhood. I am forever blessed."

If she only knew.....I used to wish that her family was mine, and that I could stay at her house always. She added more than magic to my wonder years. :)

No, nothing like that. I meant that I made somebody's list. I sent out Christmas cards to my friends a couple of weeks ago. But I didn't get any back this year. Not one. That is, until the mail came today. It wasn't quite a Christmas card, actually. It was a very brief, hand-written letter from a former girlfriend. She is the only one I called, but even at that I had to leave a message on her answering service. I asked her if she would be sending me a Christmas card this year.

The hand-written letter is the closest thing I got. But it made me smile just the same. She took the time to write me this:


I'll send you a Christmas card when you are the last man on Earth.

I moved one whole position up on her list! Woo hoo! Things are looking up for me now. It's gonna be a great year for me next year. I can feel it in my bones.

I am having a bad few days at work. And today I am trying to make up for it while feeling like I am hung over (I don't drink alcohol so I don't get that).

My coordination is total shit this morning (you would not be able to read this if I didn't fix all of the typos I just made), and I am having trouble remembering things I just did.
