Today we were given a box of modern lesbian erotica. The charity's policy is NOT to sell erotica because they are a children's charity. It isn't that they disapprove of erotica, but if a Mrs Grundy complained, the adverse publicity could be damaging.

The books are in too good a condition to send for paper recycling.

Unfortunately, no.

They are all too afraid of the one or two local public nuisances who delight in complaining about anything. One recently made a fuss in our local paper about a naked torso being dressed in a charity shop's window. The torso showed nipple-less breasts to the street for a couple of minutes. Lesbian erotica? She'd start foaming at the mouth and write letters of complaint to the press and the charity's trustees in minutes.
