Going to bed with acid reflux, and feeling like you are about to hurk up at any minute, realy fucking sucks, and hinders falling asleep :(

You've got my total sympathy about that. Did you take anything for it? Antacids, acid reducers, etc. are staples in our house.

It's not something that has ever happened to me like that before, so I was caught completely unprepared.

:rose: :)
I wish I'd known you were alone - you would have been welcome here for thanksgiving and after, as long as you don't mind sleeping on a couch. ;)

Thanks cloudy. Couches aren't bad. Most of them. *grins*

Actually the day went well. I got to talk to my Sir and had some good food and dessert I wasn't expecting. Talked to a friend I had been looking for 15 years and found a few weeks ago on Facebook. She was alone for the day too in Chicago because she had a root canal done a few days ago and couldn't eat anything so sent her sister home to have Thanksgiving with the family. We talked about 2 hours and got pretty well caught up. She's still the very caring and still very much a pistol! So glad some things don't change. (I had been looking for both of these ladies for 15 years. They are identical twin sisters...though to me, they never looked anything alike, but everyone always confused them.)

I am tired. Just fuckin' tired. It ain't supposed to be my job to take care of the whole fuckin' world. And I am tired.

Bad news: I might have given my wife Swine Flu. I'm still recovering. We should have been in London this weekend doing the tourist bit with youngest daughter and son-in-law but we had to cancel. The tradition is that I show them part of London they've never been to, they show me part that I've not been to. We could keep that up for a few hundred years. Irritation: I had booked the hotel months ago but didn't take out cancellation insurance so not going cost as much as if we had gone.

Good news: Received "Thank You" letter from France this morning for donations to a town's museum collection. I expected an acknowledgement from the museum. I received a formal thanks on embossed stationery from the Mayor.

It's nearly December and we're finally harvesting the last tomatoes from the front garden.

That's ridiculous.

A calm has fallen upon me. Or has my calm fallen upon the world? Whichever it may be, I am happy to feel calm. I have my doubts about whether it will last or not.

I found a couple dozen CDs in my old CD booklet that weren't ever recorded to my current computer, so I am ripping them all right now...
