manners? what are manners? someone cloned my debit card. :(

UK banks are dodging their responsibilities on debit and credit cards. If you have written down your PIN anywhere, or have not destroyed the advice of the number they sent you, they will not pay out if your card is stolen or cloned.

That applies even if the thief has had no access to your record of the PIN.

I have five different PINs. I don't want to change them all to a single version because anyone who clones just one of my cards could then use the same PIN on all of them, yet I find it difficult to remember which of the five applies to which card.

No worries hon, Barclays is behaving beautifully over it. They caught it, notified me, and advised what we do if any charges get through. Card has been destroyed and cancelled and a new one soon on the way. So far there was nothing but a try to use the card which resulted in a denied $1.00 charge at the store in the states.

Also explains why the following day I wasn't able to buy theatre tickets for a show in April for the minx. So all in all so far *knock on wood, clench ass cheeks* nothing extremely bad other than whole hell of a lot of inconvenience for my trip to the states next week.

I would really, really miss country ham and biscuits for breakfast if I ever left the South.

Just sayin'.

If that wasn't her that I saw yesterday, than there are way too many women that look like her that drive similar cars.

How did we manage to jump straight from Summer to Winter? What happened to the temps in the 70s and high 60s? I'm freezing!!

I'm out for the night. The rest of you can continue to bicker, gripe, snipe, and pick apart at will.

And to those who are routinely civil and don't stoop to name-calling, etc., just because you disagree with someone, bless you. :rose:

Wait...how would they know that you had a record of your PIN somewhere?

100k

I'm feeling really wiggy with anticipation.

One of the very first stories I posted, A Drive in the Woods, is five reads away from the 100K mark. By far, that is the most reads for any of my stories, and is probably more than than about 80% of them added together. It isn't on of my greatest maybe, but I still have a fondness for the early efforts.

No big deal to the Lit juggernauts, maybe, but it's been a long 6 and a half years.

Based on the average number of reads, I'd say I'll have 100K by morning.

Yea!

:D

Congratulations!

Good news around this place is nice for a change.

Wait...how would they know that you had a record of your PIN somewhere?

It is one of their standard conditions. If you have written down your PIN and/or kept their advice of your PIN, and you don't tell them when making a claim for a lost card - you are making a fraudulent claim and can be prosecuted.

Either you lie, or they don't pay out. They are making everyone with a less than perfect memory into potential criminals.

We didn't have autumn here either.

It's supposed to warm up a little next week, but not for long, I don't think. Hubby said he thought we were supposed to have a mild winter. I don't see how if the temps have already dipped this low.

It's even cold here right now.
