I hardly ever have ice cream, and this was hardly any compared to what I used to have when I was thin.

No, me being bigger than normal has to do with my gaining muscle from working out all the time, and eating too much Outback Steakhouse cheese fries

And the fact that these jeans were always a tighter fit then the other pair that I own, which are supposed to be the same size...

My Armani jeans don't fit.

Perhaps the size label lies?

They never did fit, even when I bought them as an incentive to make me try to slim.

Yesterday (Sunday) was a great day on our local beach. The beach hut owners had a decorated hut competition with several owners dressing to match the theme of their hut decoration e.g. Hawaiian and Casino. There was even accusations of cheating because the first prize winner had paid local art students to design, decorate and animate her hut. Should the competition rules be changed to ban paid art? Watch this space.

The local sea angling club had a barbecue with a local pop group performing 60s, 70s and 80s classics. The members were rocking all over the beach and so were some of the beach hut owners (while some moaned about the noise and quality of the music).

People were swimming. The local sailing club had a dinghy race. The whole beach was alive with more people than I have seen on the beach at one time and I've been here thirty years.

At 3 am one of the local residents had to call the fire brigade. Two of the beach huts were on fire. Those two were reduced to a pile of charred wood. The huts on either side of the wrecks are damaged beyond repair. One of those damaged huts belonged to the Chairman of the Beach Hut Owners' Association and he had organised yesterday's competition. One of the completely destroyed huts belonged to the third prize winner. She had recieved a deckchair as her prize. That deckchair is now ashes and she'd never sat on it.

Everyone's first thoughts was arson by local drunken youths. The Fire Brigade's opinion before complete investigation is that the fire was accidental, possibly caused by a pilot light in a gas fridge.

Fire has ruined what was a great event.

How on earth am I going to cope with her when she's a teenager. In one day, we've gone from her believing in Santa Clause, to us having a 30 minute heated discussion about magick, religion, pagan traditions, dishonesty, and trust.

Right now she has purple hair. Or, at least most of it is purple. It looks kind of cool, actually. And she knows every single word to the song "Kiss me through the phone" . . and this evening she wanted to know when I would show her how to use mascara.

She's growing up too fast for me. . .
