Latest update as of an hour ago. She has a mid grade concussion, 3 cracked ribs and 6 fractures in her pelvis. Sounds worse than blond on the phone due to large quantities of happy juice. Still no need for surgery and a Mon. or Tues. discharge.

Good news!

I would have loved a nice morning cuddling witht he 4 yr old on the couch watching cartoons, Instead she threw fit from hell until I did the unthinkable and shouted. *sighs* I'm such a shit mom sometimes. I hate shouting and couldn't believe I did. Must repeat 'Use firm mommy voice and follow the steps' past that ground her for life!

Sometimes it's still necessary to shout. There are better ways maybe, but it's a honest thing also. She stepped on your nerves and got a reaction. She has to life with this. She'll learn.

I am so eager to help, I started talking over my instructor while helping him with another student this morning.

You are not a shit Mum.
You are human.

I left my husband because he smacked my baby so hard she had welts on her bum! Shouting isn't physical, and she'll learn by the tone of your voice what is acceptable and what is not.

Kids aren't stupid. They know your 'angry' voice isn't threatening. Maybe shouting at her made her realise you weren't joking this time.

We've all done it.

*hugs* from another mum who has lost her temper a few times.
