I grew up with a bottle of olive oil in the cupboard. Mother had fits when I started putting it on bread, instead of butter. She was no Italian.

Tell you what, Cloudy, we meet at a halfway point and I'll trade oso bucco al la Milanese for frybread tacos! After I take a double blood pressure pill. :D

Yes, olive oil cures many ails as does balsamic vinegar.

Rum is now in play. All is right with the world

Thank you so much for what you did this afternoon... it is much more of a help than I anticipated. :D

 And thank you for needing to drive me to work today as well.

I found out that a few drops of balsamic vinegar in boiling water is very good at keeping noodles from sticking to the pot.

I really need to find a confessor, or a confidant or some one I can just vent to when I am overcome. But I hold too many secrets and the stuff that bothers I don't want to admit. maybe I should just drink more, a lot more.

Nope. Never a solution. :rose:

No, don't do that. I grew up in a family full of people who drowned their sorrows in bottles and lit them up with drugs. I once tried drowning my sorrows in a bottle of rum only to wake up and find them bigger and worse the following day. So no...no no no. :rose:

Drinking never solves anything... problems are still there when you sober up.

The rum and whisky are safely locked away, and the beer is in the fridge, so no drinking away the feelings.... thanks all of you.

*takes notes*

I discovered that one day when I was out of cooking spray, out of olive oil, out of vegetable oil, out of everything except the balsamic vinegar, so I decided it was better than nothing. It worked better than anything else I'd ever used. :)

And doesn't affect the taste of the noodles as much as the oil... But you have to be careful to only use a couple drops. I really poured it in one time... and we both nearly gagged when we tasted it.

*wonders who's following who all over the board* :D

I'm eying the caramel apple the husband bought me when we were in town earlier. It's a pecan turtle Belgian chocolate caramel apple. Gods I want to take a bite really bad.

For some reason anything acidic is good for that- drops of lemon juice/ lime juice/ any kind of vinegar.

Same with rice. If you want your rice to not stick together, then add a few drops of any of the above to the water BEFORE you add the rice or noodles.

:)

I was reading dating profiles last night, and one woman said that she doesn't watch horror movies so much because she is succeptable to having nightmares afterwards.

So of course I have a nightmare the morning after reading this

Banana-Chocolate bread in the oven. Now I can drink some coffee and relax. :)
