I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this season isn't like it was last year. Way too much damage, and way too many people hurt or killed.

We don't have a basement in the house now, BUT we do live close enough to be able to hear the siren when it goes off. I'm considering signing up for a new service one of the tv stations is offering: when there's a tornado warning in effect for your area, they call you and let you know, so even if you're sleeping, you'll still get a warning.
