Lots of interesting ways to take that. :D
But, perish the thought, Imp. Didn't you see the teeny tiny fine print? The stuff that says, "Bluey reserves the right to lie about her lying at any time and, more specifically, to change her mind about her silly, sweeping generalizations" ?
Me likey. (You.)

Blurt: The crunch monster is back.

Fieryjen, we're dealing with the same stupidity, just different continents.

Did you know that to apply for a Birth Certificate (a requirement for just about any proof of identity), you have to show a birth certificate?

Also, the department of social security can't accept that my daughter exists without seeing one...even though they've been paying me a family tax benefit for her her whole life, based on the birth certificate they saw when she was born. But they haven't seen it in the past five years. That they want to change her from under my family tax benefit to her own youth allowance has nothing to do with it.

I fucking love dealing with bureaucracy.

And don't even get me started with the new driver's license I applied for yesterday. *mentally strangles clueless woman at the DMV*

Yes, I understand... Decided that before I leave Calif. I want to finally get the personalized plates I'd been desiring... so, back in August I decided to order my "BELEGON" plates.

Went through all the process, submitted the non-refundable fee... and then got an email telling me the plates would be available to me at my local DMV in early November. I leave for Imp's on Nov. 10th.

Think they could have told me that the delivery was gonna take 8-12 weeks BEFORE the NON-REFUNDABLE fee was submitted????

Now, I'm just hoping they arrive before I leave.

Oh, that's... smart. Sorry to hear you've been having problems.

Just like the consulate in Chicago, where the guy that needs to witness and notarize my signature is the same guy who will then process the same document I just signed and file it away never to be seen again after he's done with it. But, of course, I need to pay $20 for the notary stamp that is completely unnecessary because - who the hell does he need to notarize it for?

Gah, that's moronic. There was no reason they couldn't have told you before.

Yeah, said lady couldn't figure out my status - she's got the choices of "US citizen", "Permanent Resident" and "Temporary visitor"

Since I'm obviously not a citizen, she could strike that. I tried to tell her that despite the fact I don't have my green card yet, I'm supposed to be counted as permanent resident, since that's the closest (I do have grounds to apply for the green card, so the fact that the application has been accepted makes this reasonable - I've had to deal with this before since my current non-status causes lots of this type of problems). It would be a temporary license for as long as my temporary work permit is valid as well.

The woman was not convinced though, and decided she was going to count me as a temporary visitor and give me a probationary license. I got a bit irritated at this seeing how I'm not a visitor - I live here in my own house, after all, and I intend to stay. Plus, a probationary license carries with it its own set of disadvantages I don't need. She got quite cross with me and kept asking me for additional documents, probably hoping I would admit not having one of them with me so she could dismiss me and let someone else deal with me when I got back. She had to admit defeat though, seeing how I have everything I could possibly need in the folder I carry with me to such places.

She asked three other people in the department for advice before finally giving in and getting me a regular license.

Oh my god, i have a crush on a soldier:eek: He came into a chatroom and received horrible treatment was called a fake, fraud and liar and handled himself with dignity despite all the harassment. His control was wonderful to watch in action. He is sweet and lovely too. But dammit, I cannot see his ring finger in the photos he sent me. lmao and he did not try to send me a picture of his penis:D

In the past month I've had more sex than I had in the last two years of my marriage.

Diva child: "He doesn't even know he has a crush on me."

Like Mother... like daughter :D

Blurt: Having raised the issue of a possible fraud on one of my CC's, the bank finally contacted me to say it was my fault for not having told them sooner. That the issue was raised when I stopped receiving statements and then received a phone call to say my balance was over limit, seems to have passed them by  It's taken them six months to reply.
