Daughters!
Today and yesterday my daughters asked for the almost impossible:
Daughter 1:
Ask #1. Can I sit in her flat for a day to accept delivery of furniture (on the third (US 4th) floor)? She doesn't own a chair that I can sit on for ten minutes let alone all day.
Ask #2. Can I give private tuition in Latin to her Headmaster's wife? I last studied Latin 47 years ago. The Headmaster's wife last studied it 5 years ago.
Daughter 2:
Ask #3. Can I start a campaign against the council in the town for which she is the local reporter? I'm already campaigning for the same thing in the town we both live in. My chances of success are already non-existent.
Daughter 3:
Ask #4. Can I persuade one of my wife's friends to accept that her eldest daughter is a Lesbian and won't "grow out of it" or "come to her senses"? The friend has a fundamental religious upbringing and even four years after her daughter broke the news never speaks of her eldest daughter and slams the phone down whenever the daughter rings. The daughter is in a stable relationship with her SO and has been for five years. The mother doesn't know, or won't accept, that one of her sons is also gay but still in the closet.
I know Dads can do most things but there is a limit.
