My youngest daughter is currently flying from the UK to Ottawa, to meet her husband who finishes a conference there today.

They are going to look around Ottawa for a few days, then go to Toronto and hire a car.

My wife, telling me their plans, then said:

"They're going to drive from Toronto to the Victoria Falls."

thinking is the work. I only have 1/4 of the general plot, and two of the main characters half-way fleshed out. It needs a hell of a lot more thought than that before I can even start considering writing anything else down than what I already have (one scene. the opening).

You know... I thought the same thing when I did my first post here. I didn't have much, but as I've gone, the story has just unfolded. It's almost as much as a surprise to me as it is to everyone else. It's kinda fun living on the edge. Give it a shot. If you hate it. Don't do it again.

That was what I tried when I initially started it. I loved the first part. The second part was so bad I rewrote it three times before stepping back and rethinking it, which is where I am now. The rest of it is in bits and pieces. It needs some more thought too.
