Bloody hell. I'm going to have to have surgery. Again.

Great, another scar. :(

I'm joining the surgery club. Three weeks from today.

Hey, we should start a Surgery Support thread!! :cattail::cool:

The medical fetish friends among us would have so much fun.

Scars show that you are a survivor. Celebrate each one. :rose:

I have more than my share, and they don't bother me at all. They each have a story to tell.

I could have used a surgery support club when I was younger. Having so many teeth pulled surgically, and then my jaw realignment, and an appendectomy, all within a short timespan.

Luckily though, I haven't needed a surgery since the appendectomy almost ten years ago.

Though I fear I may need knee surgery in the next year or two...

There is something rather addicting in watching a student's face when you don't give them an answer but point them to where the answer lies, and then the figure it out themselves. If I could bottle that experience, I would own the world.

Yes.

Most times, knowing that you can make that sort of a difference as a teacher can counteract all the negativity - the lack of pay, the idiot parents, the uncaring administrators and uninformed public, the poorly funded programs -

Hey but atleast you get your summer's off.;)

No, we don't.

In order to make ends meet, my husband and I both work second jobs.

Plus there is continuing education - most teachers take college courses in the summer.

I was joking actually, I come from a family with a lot of teachers. That is the common perception though and there are more than a few who pursue that vocation for that reason.

Jeeze, I wish the school would organise their away trips and assorted other money-please-mum events more evenly spread - $100 in one week for one child is a bit much.

Oh no. :( I don't like the idea of two of my favoritest people going under the knife, too.

Don't worry about me, love. It's nothing major.

And another  for our surgery buddy, Vana.

Hey, you have to admit we're keeping damn fine company in this club though!

:D Ah surgery club that sounds rather cool! I don't think I'm as cool as the other kids but may I join as well?

Who knew the pre-admission tests was going to cause a scheduling nightmare of ..when to leave. Need time for bad traffic, potty breaks, lunch and if I can't get the time changed to a few hours earlier also dinner and potty breaks for little one as well as activities. Oh and I forgot about needing to go to the park in ride in cambridge and bus to the hospital. *giggles*

*crosses fingers and goes to call to see if can get it at noon* That would save the dinner problem at least.

~edit: woohooo, they changed it. One less thing to worry about on Thursday! :D

My car has been in the shop for a week now. I was borrowing my mother's car, but she needed it back today, so I had to get a ride from my sister with her children. I have to walk to lunch on a day when I really needed the food that I have to drive to get to.
