I don't think this was a beef pizza.

It would work only if you were using a rather mildly flavored sauce, like a butter/onion red sauce. Under those circumstances, you'd be right.

General observation: There are the hell of a lot of walking wounded on the Lit Forum.

I can. :)

And I am so pleased I actually recognized it!

I would imagine so. I understand that it's impossible to translate properly into English.

I can't say I would recognise it otherwise! I've only read him in translation obviously (or often exegesis, because he's sometimes so complex), but I enjoy what of his work I've read.

Oh god, yes! You have no idea how I struggle to translate Urdu to my friend who enjoys such things. You can translate the words all you like, but they never carry the same feeling, or the inflection, or, just the essence.

How 'bout that? I learned to drink whiskey. And I didn't even need someone to teach me.

Oh, I'm sure. Translation is never perfect and with poetry it is especially impossible to carry everything over into a different language: the flow of the language is different, the feel of the words is different, and there's no way to render all of the possible meanings at once.

I'm sorry I didn't get it before. Do what you need to do. Nothing will change with me.
