*noddles* she did it last night and she'll probably tell the story for a long time. He said she didn't do it on purpose but I saw the look on her face and it was her I'm gonna pull a prank look!MrsDeathlynx said:Lmao, oh god that was great. Must have been priceless. *giggles*

She's a kid, of course she'll tell the story forever, lol. Just remember it, you'll be able to use it for bribery material when she starts to date.Chantilyvamp said:*noddles* she did it last night and she'll probably tell the story for a long time. Damn, that's pretty bad, funny but bad, lol. People aren't as aware of the influence they can have on their kids, they pick up on the little things that we don't think they would. It stuns me, but from what I've seen and heard kids pick up a heck of a lot from their parents, too bad sometimes their parents are completely oblivious of such things...slyc_willie said:About ten years ago, a girl I was dating invited me over to her uncle's home for Christmas. Aside from her uncle and aunt, and the two of us, there were her cousins. One of whom had a four-year-old boy who decided he had to sit next to his grandpa (my girlfriend's uncle). Now, understand that the mother of this particular boy had a very free way of speaking, even around her young son.
All throughout dinner, little Paulie (that was the four year old) was the epitome of decorum. However, once everyone was through their first course, Uncle Doug asked Paul to hand him the bowl of mashed potatoes.
Casually as can be, Paul handed over the bowl, saying, "Fuck you, grandpa."
Everyone at the table froze. Paul's mother grew so red in embarrassment I thought she was about to spontaneously combust. It was pretty obvious that Paulie had picked up that particular phrase from his mother. We all looked to Doug for his reaction.
Calmly as could be, Doug took the bowl from his nephew and said, "Paul, that's not a very nice thing to say to anyone."
"Okay, grandpa."
Everyone went back to eating. Yet not a single soul at that table -- except Paul's mother -- wasn't smirking for the rest of the night.
Ah, kids.![]()

I hate to compare kids with animals, though there are a lot of similarities...One of the things I hate at work, we have candy at the registers...Kids start screaming and screaming, sometimes spend an hour in the store doing so. Then their parents say they can't have a treat, but then at the last second decide to add a Lindt truffle in and give it to them anyways! And parents wonder why their kids are spoiled, it's a learned behavior and they give them positive reinforcement! When I was a kid, if I screamed and I never really did, my mother would drag my butt out of the store (safely and nonabusively of course) and leave her shopping right where it was. She only had to do that with my older brother once, kids nowadays are spoiled because their parents don't think that things like that will effect them or that they won't learn from it young...slyc_willie said:It amazes me, too.
Children are very observant, even if we don't see it. I believe it is ingrained in them to follow the lead of adults around them, whether they be parents, friends, or strangers. In some way, children are like homeless animals, picking up on the actions of those around them. I interact with numerous kids at my job, and have no doubt that, in at least some way, I influence them.
