I don't know enough about my Secret Santa recipient and I hate giving gift cards.

*grumble*

Ask El for hints. I know I've made a suggestion to her about someone else in case it comes up. You can also ask people the person seems to be friends with. :cathappy:

One word: Books. ;)

I'm kind'a weird when it comes to gifts. Even if I don't know the person all that well, i want to give them something that symbolizes something important to them. A book can certainly do that, of course, but I'm working on limited information.

And EL's told me everything she knows about this person.

I might ask around, surreptitiously. I think I know who they're buddy-buddy with. I think . . . .

I went on a first date with the woman I slept with last week. I was trying to figure out if I was a drunken mistake for her or not, and whether or not I really wanted to be with her myself. I'm still not sure about the second, but I'm a little more clear about the first. I wasn't that much a mistake. She would probably let me into her bed again if she didn't live with her parents. Damn this living at home nonsense. One of us needs to move out.

It was fun though. We had dinner (at a diner that I know the architect of), went to a bar for drinks (at a bar that I have done drawings for the owner of), and then drove out to see another building that I helped with the design of. The funny thing is, I didn't suggest any of the locations. The first two were her choices, and the third was after I mentioned that I had worked on it but never seen it. then she dropped me back off at my car, we made out a bit, and went our separate ways at 4:00 am.

I have such a headache from being out so late last night...

Way to go there, Thee. ;)

Kind of a weird feeling, dating after so long, huh?

The first time, back in 95, everything seemed right at first. This time around everything seems out of place. I don't know where I stand, or where she really fits in my life. I think I'm just using her because she is there and willing to be with me for a bit. I feel like that is wrong, but I'm not entirely sure she isn't doing the same thing to me as well.

I don't know. I'm really confused here.

I think the fact that you aren't jumping into a relationship shows maturity on your part. As you've said, it's been quite a few years since you last had sex. Quite a few men in your position would take the first opportunity to come along and blow it out of proportion.

Just take it easy. get to know her. And don't try to think to much into it.

It's the season when I have smoke coming out of my mouth without having to smoke cigarettes.

Actually, I believe she's in New Mexico. They get all four seasons there . . . ;)

Do you suppose that person is sincere and is really that disingenuous? If so it's kind of sweet in a very eyeball-rolling way, and probably a little sad.

I'm in Southern Ontario. And yes, it's freezing outside! Worse, I don't have a car and have to take the bus to/from work almost every day of the week. :(

But I have a cool jacket! :nana:

I don't do hats or scarves though...they're......itchy.
