We were about *this* close to buying my dream house. Five bedrooms, four full baths, a sunroom, a HUGE pool with a poolhouse, hardwood floors in about half of it. It could have been beautiful.

It was a foreclosure, and its been empty for about three years. It needed tons of work, but we'd already pre-arranged the work with a contractor, and I had started picking out carpet and paint colors. All that was left was closing on it.

Went by there today, and someone had burned it to the ground.

:(
NOOOO!

Have a hug... though it's not enough.

Oh darling - I know how much you wanted it and I am so so sorry for your loss :( Am genuinely sorry for you.

Losing a dream hurts as badly as losing something real... if not more, sometimes.

Thanks. I'm beyond devastated. I wanted that house so badly.

And now we have to start looking all over again.

Thanks, doll.

I guess I should be thankful it wasn't ours quite yet, but....shit. I wanted that one SO bad, and it was SO close to being mine.

eta: thanks, neon. I know its "just a house," but it was the house I've always wanted. :(

I'm thinking tie them to the back of the suburban, and drag them down some gravel roads.

I'll lay salt along those roads ahead of you ;)

Thanks, babe. I'll get over it, I suppose, but I don't think we'll find another house I want as much as I wanted that one, damn it.

*hugs* to the Cloudy one.
Was it Carry who did it?

Blurt: How do I get candle wax out of her hair?

My head just might blow off my shoulders today...

So, if you see something rolling across the floor, don't kick it real hard, okay?

Once it's dry break it out? Then maybe a hot oil treatment? I really don't know. That is an exceedingly tough one.

I am so sorry-- it must feel like a nightmare to you. ((((hugs))))

Sam - Try blowing a hairdryer onto the affected area until the wax softens a little, then it should peel out. I'd try not to let it melt completely if possible, as it may just spread!!

Alternatively, try the ice-cube inside a plastic bag held against the wax, then bang the hair with something hard so the wax shatters off...

Personally I;d try the hairdryer first...

It is, really. I want to be a spoiled child and just give up at this point. We worked so long on being able to get this house, and now it's just....gone.

But, after a day or so of moping, I'll dust myself off, and start looking. Again.
