My future sis in law is a strawberry blonde and she's dyed her hair black and it looks *terrible*.

Get low lights or a semi-permanent mid-brown rinse, but do NOT go black. ugh.

I had blond highlights put in about a month and a half ago. I like them. I won't do black. (I don't think I will... I've always wanted to though. Probably because everyone in my family (sisters and parents) had either black hair, or brown and I was the only redhead.)

Thanks. I would take plain brown too. Growing up there were a lot of comments about my red hair that I could have done without and then my sisters added to my dislike of it by convincing me I was adopted. I like the color now, but it took a long time to see it as a beautiful thing.

It has grown on me over the years (no pun intended). I did dye it a different shade of red once, but that was because when the lady did my highlights once, she did so much in blond, I looked like a blond with red highlights.
