My best friend and her girlf are coming Sat lunchtime, then two more friends are coming by at 4ish, we all go to fireworks at 5 (they start at 7 but it'll take ages to get there through the traffic etc) then they all come back afterwards...
So... I need to do a lunch, pre-bonfire snacks and post-bonfire feast...
And I was going to make Beef and Ale stew for the post-bonfire feast, but just realised my largest casserole only holds enough for 4 people, not for six.
Panic!!!
I'll probably do pizza and salad for lunch, hot dogs and nibbles for pre-bonfire, but have no idea what to do after...
And should I take cakey/sweety type snacks with for during the fireworks? Bonfire toffee type stuff...
Help meeeeeeeeeee....
<goes to flip through recipe books again>

OR how about a shepherds/cottage pie? You can do that then bulk it out with lots of veggies to go on the side
I'd take some treacle toffee to the bonfire, maybe some of the ready done popcorn you can get? Or maybe just some chocolate or toffee appes
Ooooh and parkin *drools* you should make parkin.
Vermilion said:Well the beef stew would fit that, but like I said, I don;t have any pots big enough. Usually I cater for 2 - 4 at the absolute most. I have no idea how I can cater for 6... I haven't the equipment.

I'm doing beef stew, beef cebolada - beef and onions with tomato, potatoes carrots, etc. Two hours on top of the stove, eat today and freeze the rest. A big pan is essential.Vermilion said:Well the beef stew would fit that, but like I said, I don;t have any pots big enough. Usually I cater for 2 - 4 at the absolute most. Anyway, problem solved, I;m going to make Lasagne, because that divides into 6 portions exactly.

No, seriously. You can only set yourself up for so many disappointments. And then you need to let go or you'll go mad. It can't just keep happening over and over again. Something has to change. So when do you know it's time?rgraham666 said:When you're no longer breathing. *HUGS*

So many times I considered giving up my degree, but when it came to the crunch the work that I'd put in already and getting that degree in the end were just too important.
Only give up when trying is the most self-destructive thing you could do...
