Yes, you explode. Also sets in motion repressive tendencies. Not good for a porn writer. You must laugh... loud and long.
That is why I haven't been able to write lately! Repressive tendencies. Hmmm...

If was quite a shock to the system. But three months in, and I don't hate it anymore.

I'm hoping to get the new desktop soon. I'm getting tired of daughter always wanting to borrow my laptop, plus I can't play Sims2 on the lappy because it's not powerful enough to run it.

I'm enjoying my new laptop. It has so much memory! I couldn't play all the games I like on the old one.

I think memory is the problem with this one. It's only got 512mb. I know the processor is fast enough and the video card should be good enough, so I think it's the memory that keeps the game from working like it should (it drags). I've checked desktop prices at Best Buy.com. It's amazing how much cheaper a computer is based on what they used to be. My old system (5 years) was a top of the line gaming rig and now the most basic computers have about the same stuff on them (with bigger hard drive and better processors) and are at least 3x cheaper.

yup, the new 'puters are sooo much better, cheeper, faster, etc etc
and I luv the new wide screen LCD monitors

u need at least 2 GB of mem with a new puter, 4 would be better for gaming

512 mb! That's archaic! Things change so quickly. Photoguy's right. 2GB at the very least. Can you just upgrade your memory?

I'm planning on getting at least 2 (that's what most systems seem to have anyway.) I know that Sims2 will run on 1 gig though because that's what the old system has and it's probably the most resource intensive game that the computer will run. What I end up with will all depend on what the store has in stock. The one I've seen online that I hope they have in the store has 3 gigs of memory. All I can say is... I'm NOT buying a Gateway.

And with that, I say goodnight. Time for me to hit the sheets.

I went with the VAIO. It's okay so far. Better than either of my Dells or Thinkpad.
Good night Crim.

The lappy's three years old. I probably could upgrade the memory, but that wouldn't solve the kids wanting to use the computer issue. We need the desktop for them anway (and this hard drive is only 100 gig... you should see how much custom content I have for the sims and it'll only get worse as times goes on, lol.)

Edited to add: My first laptop was a VAIO. It came with a defective dvd drive and took so long to get fixed that the store exchanged it for the one I have now.

Okay, now I really am going to bed. Night!
