chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filing.

4 oz self raising flour (or add a tsp of baking powder to plain)
2/3 tablespoons cocoa
4 oz caster sugar
4oz margarine or butter
2 eggs (preferably large but just add a spot of milk if you've only got medium


Bung all ingredients in a bowl and mix (electric mixer is great) till light and fluffy.

divide into two greased sponge tins or about 12 cup cake cases in a bun tin.

Bake at around gas 6 for 20 mins or till risen and browned. You can smell them when they're done -yum.

cool on a rack then ad chocolate buttercream in the centre:

About and ounce of butter then a tablespoon of cocoa and then about 3 oz of icing sugar to start. Mix the ingredients till bended and taste -add more icing sugar if too bitter.

put on top of sponge buns or in the middle of the two sponge slices.

eat &enjoy!

My sister's husband was being a dick last night and guilted her into making the three hour drive to their house from here the night before a big poker tournament that she was really looking forward to. I was mostly going to support her with no cares as to my own placement (I already won the Vegas trip and tournament this one is giving away).

My sister made it to the tourny. Her husband drove her (bout time he did something right). she came in 21 out of 150 people. Very well done for her first tourny so large. and she isn't arguing with him right now.

And I came in second at a poker tournament today! I won a free hotel room at Binions the weekend I'll be out at Vegas placed last season and was first in my region this season gaining me the seat already, but now my hotel room is free!)!

Everyone from my bar did well, with four of us winning prizes (chip sets and Vegas tournament seats), and three of us at the final table!

It was a fun day. I'll post my trophy later.
