That first blast of thunder last night was the single loudest noise I have ever heard in my life. I swear it must have hit something right next to my window.

I don't mind thunderstorms when I'm going to be awake anyway, but I had just gone to bed early in an attempt to make up for some lost sleep and exhaustion this last week, and the last thing I needed was an hour long thunderstorm keeping me up past midnight. The first crack alone (sounded like dynamite going off next to my head) woke me up pretty good, snapping me up out of bed to see what the hell just happened.
And even though the storm ended at midnight, it takes me time to fall asleep once I'm woken up, so it was at least another half hour before I got any rest.
I didn't need that last night. I needed the sleep. I can't wait for tonight, in the hopes that I get that sleep.
