notice that double strike on the conga? Most salsa has a double strike on the 4 count and on the eight count....it helps one to stay oriented and not step on your partners toes. I got a ladies toes once, She could not stay in time to the music so her feet were everywhere. She was quite indignant and blamed me..... but from that point on she would dance with her ass way out to keep her feet away from my feet....... Really the fun part of dance is when you are with someone you are romantically involved with....sigh! When the dance connects...it is pure magic.

This one can't dance to save her life.
betcha you can. :) You should have seen how long it took me...oh god it was painful....but now I can move. A lot is just learning how to be aware of your body and movement.....once you learn how to coordinate yourself it comes much easier.

That sounds...a lot of work. I'm sure my ADD will kick in after 5-10 minutes.

*hug* I have ADD too. My instructors had to switch to something different to keep me going. *grin*

I suppose my instructor will have to be very creative and patient to bear with me through the lessons. *hugs back*

four days in vegas --- do i or don't i?
I spent three days there a few years ago, specifically in a casino hotel and on the strip, and that was too much for me. The last day I drove away into the mountains with some friends, and when we came to streets on which there were real businesses it was a huge relief; I got teary-eyed at the sight of a walmart - and I don't even like walmart. I discovered that I find the spectacle stimulating for about 24 hours, and after that it grates. I don't gamble. Of course, everyone is different.

God that was a log day, but they're only going to get longer from here on out.

In other news, I'm bored.
