If my youngest ever, ever brings home a note like that from school again, he won't leave the house again until sometime next year.

We just got finished with something like sixteen pages of homework/classwork that he either didn't finish, or didn't even bother to start. Teacher says all he does is play and talk in class.

School's only been in session for two weeks. Its going to be a very long year.

ya know, I'm so worried that if I remove my influence my kids will end up being so...I don't know.... conservative and oppressed in their thinking...

and yet, sometimes I think that maybe it is as much genetics as environment and that they will fight off some of the indoctrination.

seven year old daughter at pool today:

Daddy, we're the only ones here. Can I take my top off?

me: That's not a good idea sweetheart, leave it on.

her: But Daddy, you never wear a top in the pool, why do I have to?


I'm both proud and troubled by that exchange...

See, that's where being European would help you. I wore just bikini bottoms until I was about nine or ten, then wore a top until I was about 18, then decided to stop again :D

dont come to he pools over near me than v...they wont even let the 2 year old go without a top. Though not like she would'nt wear one anyway but shes two not 10.

hrmm... well, mostly I only went swimming on holidays anyway, so the sea or continental european swimming pools where they don;t give a crap :D

Honestly, why does a little girl need to wear a top? She's got nothing more to show than a little boy, it's ridiculous.

beats me hon...though shes partial to her full suit anyway so its not like you could get her in anything else. Its when she out of the pool that she thinks she doesnt have to wear any clothes. :rolleyes:

I hear a movie just calling my name...not sure which one but I know it needs to be heeded. (that and the fact that sitting up is now painful so must do something else.)

Really, good riddance to this week. It's gone downhill since Monday, with not a damned thing emotionally fulfilling about it.

Bring on the weekend.
