Ok..... Three hours writing, 3000+ words..... Great idea and the characters are coming along great....

So what's the problem, why am I sitting here pulling my hair out..... I'm brain dead on the name of that toy...... I've been saving it for just the right set of characters.... Now they are here and I can't remember the name of the damned thing.

I know who has one but they are fast asleep and would kill me if I called.....

Wow, today...anxious or what!?

It was overwhelming though, for those that aren't aware, i started my week long volunteer placement at a nursing home that one of my neighbour's is the manageress of. I've never worked with the elderly or infirm before, and i was nervous as hell months ago when i first started asking Auntie S. if i could come and do a week with her. There is a 90% female majority, 2 couples and 1 resident in hospital.

Today started out nervewracking, the first thing i was asked to do is deliver various residents their various newspapers. O.M.G. i was SO nervous about just waltzing up to a stranger's room and introducing myself and giving them their paper that i was shaking and stuttering and an utter mess.

I got better throughout the day, meeting everyone, and talking some more, by the end of the day i had picked up some names, and its also apparent that one of the ladies is fond of me- we began to discuss painting and sunset photography, so we certainly got on well.

Neways, i have 4 more days of official placement, 2 days are majority-day outings, which im looking forward to. On weds i am doing manicures (i only found this out this morning... )- which is more about the 1 on 1 conversation than the nail business.

All in all, the first day over, im actually a lot better than i was this morning

I volunteered to work in a retirement home in my 12th grade year. It was a grand experience. Yes, most of the residents were women and they were very nice women, although sometimes they did get cranky, but they were all very cheerful and opening. I played cards with them, did their manicure, read them the news and sometimes *cough* sang for them.

Hope all your anxiety will dissipate soon, sweets.
