What about a string up the crack of your ass is so damn appealing? It isn't comfy! Or so it sure isn't to me the wearer of said stringy piece of red lace. We'll give it a go though and see if by the time the day is done if I can suffer with it, otherwise I may just continue my pantiless fetish with skirts.

From experience, depends on the type of string Lace is sometimes rather irritatingly scratchy

Thongs are only more comfortable when you're wearing clothes that will shove your knickers up the crack of your arse anyway. In this case the material jammed up your butt is then that much smaller and less noticeable than it would be otherwise.
The only other time I would recommend a thong is under a nice skirt/dress that would reveal underwear - why ruin a nice outfit for the want of a flesh-coloured thong (unsexy as it may be in person...)
