Why one should not buy a new car, but instead a slightly used one.

From cars.com, "cost of ownership." It varies by vehicle. This is for a Chrysler Pacifica that sells for around $28,000 new.

Cost Item Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Total
Depreciation $11,905 $1,635 $1,590 $1,544 $1,544 $18,218

Note the key piece of information: the car loses nearly $12,000 in the first year.

Here's a Toyota Highlander that sells for around the same. The decline is less, but you still get socked.

Cost Item Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Total
Depreciation $7,209 $1,824 $1,594 $1,562 $1,547 $13,736

God, you're funny.

Thanks for the laugh. Even though you were serious.

A quiet, private, "No thank you. I happen to be allergic to both latex and tapioca" would have sufficed. I can take a hint. :(

Do tell us more.

I've been working out with a personal trainer, a little investment in me. :) She kicks my butt, however, and my abs, quads, chest, arms, etc.

I love online shopping... because soon in a few days, I will open my mail box and there will be something for me... it is like a present. :D I think if I had unlimited funds, I would be in a LOT of trouble.

*laugh* The SO and I are terrible about that. We've been known to order things express for the joy of opening them sooner. ;)

Because a car like yours positively screams out for a kayak on the roof rack (with a high-tech mountain bike next to it.)

Accessories make the outfit.

You know, when grown-ups speak, it's not a good idea to interrupt them. And stop trying to boss us around. You're 12. Get over it. I'm not that old-fashioned, but a little respect for your elders would do you some good.

Well, disrespectful kids make me really feel old, because I'm thinking, "Why you young whippersnapper, when I was your age, I'd get spanked for that!" :( ;)

Dear Civilization III: Conquests,

Why must you always shut down while in the process of recording my victories? You don't shut down when I lose! This is just too suspicious. Why does the rest of the game work perfectly, except for you? Listen, don't you hear all of the other game scenarios laughing at you?  :( :p

Let's hurry before that pretty little thing melts away.

I went down the Nantahala in a two man canoe once. 'Course I don't expect an Idaho Mountain Girl to be impressed - it only has one class 4/5 rapid. :p

I'm sorry, was that "I categorically and absolutely uphold your right to your freedom of speech"? ;)
