Today I called a cop a jackass. To his face. After he cited me for an "unsafe lane change". He claimed I cut him off too close, which forced him to slam on his brakes. I know I did not do this. This vindictive jackass used his badge for revenge against a perceived slight.

Me. A citation. I haven't had a citation in 15 years, not since I was 19. And when I got cited that time, I knew I was speeding, the cop knew I was speeding, so I didn't fight the ticket. I remained calm, I accepted my punishment as justly due. In fact, that cop thanked me for being so polite and for being such a good sport. He thanked me!

Fifteen years without a citation. I am not an unsafe driver.

In fact, the jackass tailed me for two blocks before pulling me over, during which I stopped at a crosswalk for pedestrians. Is this the action of an unsafe, self-centered, offensive driver?! NO. I used my signal, I made a lange change.

Now all of a sudden I have an urge to flip off every cop I see. That cop who pulled me over needs to learn to be a bit more objective in his police work, remove his personal feelings from the situation, enforce the law --not his hurt pride. What an ass.

Grrr.
Go to court with it. Don't let the SOB have a gimme. That's an ambiguous offense, there's no radar gun in the docket against you. You might get off, or get bargained down. Bat your eyebrows at the judge, or sit in her lap.

I thought she was only a few years older than me.

Dino-boo? Wow, I have so many nick names these days. :D

McK's ancient.

I don't know what is going on. Jonothan Ross is brilliant tonight.

I'm beyond ancient.

That's what 99% of the cops here are like. Of course, this county did make a Time article a few years back about the most corrupt justice systems/police forces in the country.

It's so not right. And they know that most people won't go to court over it. They'd rather pay the fine and be done with it.

I think I'm one of those.

He stopped me right in front of my building. When he walked away --which he did as I was haranguing him, the pansy-- I pulled into the parking garage and just cried. And cried. I was so angry, and felt so ... impotent. I hated that most of all.

See my post to cloudy above. :rose:

Huff?

Evening, lass. It would piss me off too. I saw a police car this afternoon.
You know how it is - police state Britain (according to 'he who must not be named'). Saw one a few weeks ago, too.

I thought she was a year younger than she is (I looked at her profile somewhere the other day, must have misread it ;) )

She had a birthday.

Seperated means we are not a couple......why can't she get that into her head and stop inviting us both at the same time?
