I've been out of the work force for 13 years. I have education in Business Administration, so I'll look for something along receptionist, payroll/accounting, scheduling, banks, offices... etc... something around there.

My town is very small, but the larger cities are anywhere from 20 min. to 45 min. away. I do know of a RediMed that needs a receptionist M-F 8-4 and those are the hours I truly want. So I will head out there first and then do the rounds to various places.

It's good that you have the education and background in the field you want work. My problem is a small town (nearest large city is an hour away) paired with my background is education and not business (and it's an office job I'm looking for. I can't go back to teaching (not that I want to anyway), my license expired and I don't have the money to take the class I need to get it renewed.) I'm hoping someone will see the computer skills I have listed and give me a chance.

I'm hoping they'll ignore the "I've not worked in 13 years" on my app.

Good luck to you! I hope you find what you desire, too. *hugs*

I'm sure your bright and intelligent demeanor will overcome that tiny point. ;)

I know what you mean, but surely employers are used to stay at home moms rentering the work force. I know we aren't the only ones.

I just posted my resume on Monster.com. I don't know that it will do any good since there were no office jobs posted for my area, but it can't hurt.

Sounds like a great plan. I agree, hopefully they will look past that and see I am a dependable person.

~There's snow predicted for elevations above 4500 feet. I have crocus and "glory of the snow" blooming in my garden. How appropriate. :)

~I absolutely love him because he's never given up on me, and better yet, he's never allowed me to give up on myself.

~Today I send out my first invoice. The life of a contractor/freelancer is full of thrills. :D
Wait until the first check comes back. :D

Hiya, McK - . It's so wonderful to read this from you. Yay you!

To My Friend

Take My hand and walk with Me..
we will learn together..
we will laugh together..
we will stumble together..
we will cry together..
and at the end of the path..
we will dance together..
free at last.

I didn't want to see him today, but I did.
I don't want to see him again, but I have to.
I don't want him staring over my shoulder micromanaging everything, and arguing with me about things that don't need to be done that way, but he will.
I don't want to do this anymore. But I will.

Dear MistressLynn,

I love your poem. Is it as personal as I think it is?

It is very personal----
I wanted My friend to see I was there for them--
through whatever happens--good or bad--
that sharing makes it easier.

I bet you won't even know I'm gone.

It's a little hard not to notice when you tell us you're leaving ;)

Where are you going and why? Or is this something in another topic that I should be paying attention to but senily forgot about?
