Did you ever get a shiver through your body when you heard someones name, saw their picture or saw that they had just signed on to whatever IM you use? It's kind of like this warmth that spreads through your body. I just felt it when my ex signed on to AIM. I still have strong feelings for her, and just seeing her picture sets off this sad feeling in me. Often it's just really brief, and I don't notice it, but it's there. Last night I IM'ed her, told her I needed a friend real bad, which I did. I thought she was a friend, but she never IM'ed me back, just like always. I get a much more severe reaction from my more recent ex. It's more creepy than sad, more like a tinge of disgust really. Two very different feelings, but the physical reaction is very similar. Weird huh.

SJ, I've been there. The best thing I can tell you is that being with your friends is the best thing for lonliness. I suffered through it for years, but last year about a month after my ex and I stopped talking to each other I realized that it was holding me back, and that things weren't as bad as they seemed. From then on whenever something bad happened, or something upset me, I just focussed on the positive aspects of my life and I've been much happier since. Even my friends commented on how much I'd changed. I hope that helps some. Take care.
